Go Fish
Estimated Play Time:
15-20 Min
Play Style:
Turn-Based Play
Objective:
Gather the most sets of matching cards. First to seven wins!
Rules and Gameplay:
- The goal is to collect sets of 4+ cards matching at least one attribute (color, shape, number of shapes). For example, a set could 4+ green cards, 4+ star cards, or 4+ cards with six shapes.
- Shuffle the deck of cards.
- Deal 7 cards to each player.
- Set the remaining deck face down in the center of the playing area.
- The player with the most matching attributes goes first. Gameplay will continue clockwise.
- The current player may ask another player for a card with an attribute matching one or more of the cards in their hand. If the player being asked has a card with the attribute, they must give one card with the matching attribute to the current player.
- If the player being asked does not have any cards matching the attribute, they say "Go Fish!" Then the current player draws a card from the deck in the center.
- If the current player has any sets of 4+ cards they may play them face up in from of them. Played sets are safe and cannot be taken by other players.
- After the current player receives a card from another player or draws a card, and elects to play any sets, their turn is over. The player to their left starts their turn.
- Once any player has played seven matching sets they win and the game is over!
